Coyote & The Jitts

Local Alabama Hip-Hop/Jazz/R&B fusion band front manned by Coyote GoLightly with instrumentals written and performed by The Jitts

Emerging from the growing music scene of Huntsville, Alabama, Coyote & The Jitts are a genre-defying jazz fusion band that blends elements of metal, hip hop, and experimental sounds into an electrifying, high-energy experience. Known for their captivating live performances and fearless fusion of styles, Coyote & The Jitts create music that is raw, dynamic, and impossible to ignore. The band was born from a shared passion for music and a close friendship between lead artist Coyote GoLightly, a Huntsville native and his producer Tyrell, who grew up alongside Coyote. While performing alongside other local artists, Coyote was introduced to local musicians Jake Simon, (drummer for bands such as; The Soap Girls, Fall Semester, and Platinum Monkey) Darius Smith, (guitarist for bands; Maclin & Co., Hedone and Treetop and The Gifted) and James Allen (Brass enthusiast and Bassist for bands like Balmoral #8, and Ms. Kommunication) to which the four began turning Coyote and Tyrell’s music to masterful live sets. The group has since been joined along side producer and Bassist Jon Torrain, Jalon Harris on Keys and Drums, Shawn Moore on Drums and Percussion and last but not least, secondary guitarist and song writer Mikey Pilkerton (Guitarist and Songwriter for Hedone, and Worst Behavior).Coyote started making music with Tyrell when they were in High School for fun when Tyrell had begun experimenting with beats and finding his sound. Coyote’s current music ventures were launched as early as 2021 with hip-hop and folk music, his journey taking a creative turn when he and Tyrell, driven by a mutual interest in music, decided to take the process up a notch and are currently pushing the boundaries of genre.Coyote & The Jitts' performances are a testament to the love for live music. With a deep commitment to energy, spontaneity, and audience connection, the shows are an experience that transcends the traditional concert. Blending complex rhythms, heavy guitar riffs, jazzy improvisation, and hip-hop beats, the band has quickly become a staple of Huntsville's music scene, regularly performing for an ever-growing local following.Currently, Coyote and his band, The Jitts are deep in the writing process for their second album - an increasingly experimental project that builds on their established sound while pushing into new, genre-blurring territory. The forthcoming release aims to expand their signature raw, live energy with bolder textures, unexpected influences, and a willingness to take creative risks, underscoring the band's commitment to music that is exploratory, unfiltered, and unmistakably their own. With a sound that reflects the chaos and beauty of their influences, Coyote Golightly & The Jitts are a band to watch as they continue to redefine what hip-hop fusion can be in the modern music landscape.
